2. Sew on the lace to the top of the neckline, I went back and did a zig zag ,close to the top to keep it the lace from curling out.

The back is finished by turning the lace inward and sewing it in place.

Here's how to make the flower pin. Check above for a list of what you need to make it.

1. Cut out a small circle out of cardboard, I used the price label which was on the tee, it was thick, and so it was a good choice for a backing.

It is nothing like working all day and when dinner time rolls along, I can smell my dinner waiting for me. This meal I am sharing with you is the easiest and best Pot Roast I have ever made. It only has a few ingredients and is put together in just minutes.

Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays. I love to show my family how much I love them, I would give my kids Valentine's and candy, I would write notes and show them acts of kindness and would encourage them to do it to their siblings and to their friends. I love to show my hubby how much I love him. I designed this apron's bib to look like the lid of a box of candy.
But not today, with their new policy changes Facebook now only lets a handful around 3% of my fans to see my posts at any given time. So I no longer can rely on Facebook to help me with my business. And I am not the only one, other businesses big and small are in the same boat. Unless you pay , your fans can not see what you post. I am a small business and I can not afford to pay for each post I make, so I am now going to use this Blog, Pinterest, Twitter, Tumbler, and Google+ to let you know what I have made and where you can see and buy it. I hope you will still follow me as I make more items which will help you feel beautiful and help you have fun in your kitchens.
I also make baby and children's items too.mimi's Needle and threadhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03649856608303468155noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3613155415496735446.post-46960580112694729312015-01-12T07:12:00.001-08:002015-01-12T07:12:45.512-08:00Domestic Diva GlovesWho knew there were as many Domestic Diva's out there. I love to wear fun yet practical aprons and gloves in my kitchen, and I guess you do too. I always wanted fun, sexy rubber gloves to wear while doing the dishes or cleaning up the house doing those messy jobs, we all hate to do. I hated the look of those normal rubber gloves, and I wanted some fancy ones to wear , yeah I know what you are thinking, sexy, rubber gloves? Well why not? We all do dishes, and have to clean the toilet and I frankly hate those jobs, but maybe , just maybe when I where some thing cute I might feel better while doing it. So I created these "Diva Gloves".
I had seen similar rubber gloves at Walmart and Target, but frankly I wasn't too impressed with them, The part that was near your skin was plastic, and I felt those rubber gloves are hot enough without added more plastic on my skin, so I made my ruffles out of 100% cotton.

So I dug around my vintage patterns and found this pretty romper

which I changed to have a sweetheart top instead of a plain straight top.
I then added her initials to the front of it.

I also lined the swimsuit and added two ruffles to the skirt part, and added a fun large bow to the back.

I love the results. I made a matching old fashioned sunbonnet to protect her from the sun. I am please in how well it fit her and how cute she looks in it.

I had so much fun making these. While looking through old Pin up girl pictures I came across a picture of an old poster of a cute girl wearing a sassy shower cap, I knew I had to have one. So I made one and then I made another, and another and now I am bringing them out for all to see and enjoy.

These shower caps are so great to wear. They fit any size head or hair length. The elastic is snug enough to keep your hair dry in the shower without pinching your head and hurting you. The outside is made using designer fabrics which are bright and colorful. The inside is made using a shower curtain vinyl, which is mold resistant and completely waterproof.

Next, to order yours as a gift for yourself or a friend go to https://www.etsy.com/listing/114227511/retro-pin-up-girl-handmade-shower-cap
or go to my fanpage to see these more clearly or to check out my other creations:
I saw this picture of a really cute Ipad pouch and I knew I wanted to make one. So I set out to create a pattern for it, and then decided to share with you how to make one for yourself.

Frist of all I made a master pattern I always use a plastic painting floor cover for making my patterns, it is surdy , see through and last forever.

measure and cut your pattern 19" x 12"'

Then gather all you materials, fabrics, button (I will decide which button I will use at the end so this is why I have several choosen), a hair elastic band, I used a hunter green one to good with the fabrics, and you will also need some thin batting, I used Warm and Natural brand of batting for this project.

Then I cut out the center band 13: x 2", and the ruffles cut two strips 27" x 2".

Now cut out the top and the lining and batting using the 19 x 12 master pattern.

2.Turn over to the front and press well.

3. Measure down 5 inches from edge and pin band in place.

4. Gather the ruffle strips and pin then to the top and bottom of center band to fit.

5.Leave ends of ruffles ungathered so they lay flat on the seams. I tucked in my ruffles under the centerband so the gathering threads do not show, use lots of pins so your gathers stay flat and look pretty. Sew the centerband in place with a narrow seam that catches the ruffles.

I also sewed down the ends where the seams will be.

6.Sewing the lining: Stitch the Warm and Natural batting to the edges of the lining fabric and then quilt it so it doesn't shift around. I just did a few stitches going down and then going the the other way...you decide how you want to quilt yours. I also did a zig zag stitch on the edges so it then will work as 1 piece of fabric. I find this is the easiest way to work with two piece of fabric together.

Trim the edges to clean it up and make it all pretty.

7. Attaching the Hair elastic: I first choose which button I was going to use , in this case I am using a large green button, so I measure the elastic to be sure to fit around the button and I gave it a liitle bit more room so it will go around the Ipad and then fit around the button, I then did a simple knot in the elastic. I measured in 1/4" from the seam measured where the button will go and marked that stop to the lining fabirc with a pin. I sewed this elastic in place, do this really well because tis is a stress place where you will open and cose your cover over and over again and you don't want the elastic to come undone.

8.Fold the top and the lining in half, and sew down leaving the top open for now.

9.turn the top right side out, and insert into the lining piece. Pin in place making sure the elastic band is on the opposite place to where the button is.

10.Pin in place leaving a 2" space unstitched. You will need this for turning inside out

11. Turn inside out and press open seam closed. I used a 1'2" seam for this, I also stitched over the elastic band a few times to make sure it was strong enough to be used over and over again.

12. sew a top edge...and you are done!...Good for you , you made a Ipad cover.

I love to cook and I love to bake...but since my husband was diagnosed with Diabetes, I have had to be careful with what I feed him.
Now that you have either bought or made an apron , why not bake up this yummy treat, while wearing it ?

2 cups flour
1/2 regular sugar, or sugar substitute like Aprava or Splenda
1/2 tsp Baking Power
1/2 tsp. salt (I always use granulated Sea Salt)
1/2 cup chilled butter
2 eggs
1/4 cup frozen orange juice...or fresh squeezed
1 cup mini semisweet chocolate chips
grated orange rind...use only the orange part of the peel
1 tsp. vanilla

In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar,baking powder, and salt. Cut the butter into small pieces on top of flour mixture. Using a pastry blender or two knifes, cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs. In a separate bowl, stir together eggs, orange juice, and vanilla. Add the peel. Combine all with the flour mixture. Dough will be very moist. With floured hands, knead in the chocolate chips until mixed well. Do not over handle dough. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured cookie sheet and shape into a 8 or 9 inch circle. With a serrated knife, cut into 8 wedges. Bake for 20-25 minutes at 425 degrees. Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack for 10 mins. Serve warm.mimi's Needle and threadhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03649856608303468155noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3613155415496735446.post-6191518666922793682011-08-22T10:52:00.000-07:002011-08-22T15:39:24.514-07:00Adding bias tape to a straight edge, the easy way !If you are like me , you have had trouble adding bias tape the traditional way. I never seem to be able to get it to look nice, it always comes out sloppy and uneven.
So I have come up with a way to have it come out perfect and looking great everytime.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlBL8_lBGF4jmf1y0yeBrxPMSoXELG9WXB-mSnNZQDcUzw_vI4oKivavSRmSqzs8CflHse05N_MLfg7VYOv04JpApf8287hwI3zl9o11PdIhJrncNFl99L45aiLdTEWfM9oWBt8z92efY/s200/to+to+attach+bias+tape+to+straight+edges+004.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5643738664745278546" />

1. first be sure the longer edge of the bias tape is on the bottom.

2. Then open the bias tape and sandwich the fabric between the tape.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 171px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAsFRvQgqsidV-Ve0hKQfoGcgd425ouGEGM4C8n9cXLFvtpe-87iFdTsF0Kq6CfEdCevxGzxbtkjm6jKrWxKrE-442IVcEZMfhLjmrlVCLmxf7z6ekaR7VhuU58aj-iSRwrXUbgd3UhDM/s200/to+to+attach+bias+tape+to+straight+edges+005.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5643740843307113682" />

3. close the bias tape to enclose the fabric

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijzJBDEaQ4hbjb9hO3VEqI43IInwk4EyB4yA2SKhDOpcHWSdpwHof9Ttb73VJ8OSr7nB1JsSU-XZdQbh263DtYA6FYT0m4jsmyf-3F52zSNH7tu0LAHCiPK6YC6XRVU98x-LUyZ9xKqwo/s200/to+to+attach+bias+tape+to+straight+edges+007.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5643742814419732578" />
4. Sew all layers at the same time, making sure to keep the fabric inside the bias tape, you can pin it all together if you want to to be sure you have it all done right.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtNoJ8V_FXbbnpg4dkW_3QhunmSa9bcQunXIr-Mh0-eENbq9k5rkezpDUYf8KzsJXW7Ms0nvd52eWWkoD1TEg-O_fYRu2AhKjQzDHVxj4DJSVSVvWMLU5pXu6eN7xI7syfJctf_-beUVM/s200/to+to+attach+bias+tape+to+straight+edges+008.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5643743370464545826" />
5. When you are done sewing this is what the right side should look like.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZeQrXZGSn1aW9cN3MzeapvSmt8V7QEgD_DPkAiMPLGxLJi5J12s79WKh0d_uLnsaUyEsukAxJDRgwPbwIKiZU-4YWQ1kWsG-QZL4tKz4Pu1DHx-5VP9Qpw9AS1ryjfbSH474Q-3xlCpQ/s200/to+to+attach+bias+tape+to+straight+edges+010.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5643743733827501186" />
6. This is what the wrong side of the fabric should look like. All edges are enclosed and bias tape is sewn together, nice, neat and pretty .
All done, your edge is finished and looking good.mimi's Needle and threadhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03649856608303468155noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3613155415496735446.post-43431380961418908742011-01-27T18:26:00.000-08:002011-01-27T18:41:39.088-08:00Today I want to talk about adding special extras to your aprons. Usually an apron pattern will have you make an apron with a pocket, it is usally shown plain without an embellishments. for me that will not do. Why not add a special little something to the pocket, like a baby rick rack butterfly with pearls for the body, or add an applique of something taken from the main fabric such as a chicken from the Hot Chicks apron I made for a client. Add Jumbo rick rack to the top of an apron pocket, or if you have an embroidery machine add a design to the pocket. Pockets are small and the embellishments will be small too, so it will not take too much more of your time and will add interest to what could be "Just an apron".

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1Gc0KSnOuVzeoeoBIam3YklKHkc-afkDwIyCigL6MYXcrrVb7iVney5HxsCFb7uXyFlBEvy9nOss_DA58dUDLVblUgX2oMRpzrafn2WtaHznfUDoGPwLEdOhx8WDNwNHn_ZylKegQBnk/s200/flower+apron+pocket.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5567058619177634690" />
To make this butterfly, Cut a 5" and a 4" piece of Baby rick rack. Place each piece in a figure "8" pattern. Use Basting Glue to hold in place. I also make sure that the ends are in the center, because that will be covered by the beads. Sew in place using Monofilament Thread as the top thread and matching thread in the bobbin. fOR THE BODY : Hand sew a length of 5 pearl beads, that will get smaller in size, one large bead, three medium beads and one small bead. Stitch through the beads three times for added strength. I added a medium width Rick Rack to the top of this pocket as well.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh5y-0j04Fne34WRf8cKHfUzeucQZ7lEYhJOZqiQbUM8W4phK6QwjH4alPX_vfzYTMq3tnClQQXWnJH6iCq6qHi_ceux3HBgfZCB2tKxJE9gbRclZyb6lHx3MM-zNHpsbo9RgJrdyBpOVE/s200/101_1152.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5567058911911292530" />
To make fold over Pocket : I make the make alittle long than called for in the pattern. After sewing the pocket together, I will fold over the top and add some Rick Rack under the flap, I sew this is place, then I add a button to the top of the pocket. After all this is done, then I sew the pocket.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeH1LNGwRDyWcMZKIgSM3RyZVepX8-CVwhA5oxfFTtaQHxtkBnxJN7reWAW52DfqKIh97hyphenhyphenmSkGvy4DU8Wk1xTq0uA0jFAkCn_2TvVoS87i01l9UATguvQ4s-b23fUH16lc1ffCiRoNwk/s200/101_1181.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5567061056692348178" />
This is a gathered Pocket, make the pocket alittle wider than called for in the pattern, sew together, the gather the pocket the width you want it to be. I sewed a piece of Rick Rack over the gathering stitches and added a Metal Apple button to this apron.

As you can see there are many ways to make your pockets interesting. All these ideas can be used in children's clothing as well. Experiment, see what you come up with. I found the directions and a diagram on how to make this apron but no pattern so with the directions and a few pictures to go by I made my own pattern. I choose some fun fabrics and added a few new details for modern convenience, like a small pocket to carry a cell phone and a large loop for hanging up the apron or for using as a towel holder. I love this apron and I plan on added a tutorial on her to teach you how to make your own bias tape and on how to make this apron.mimi's Needle and threadhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03649856608303468155noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3613155415496735446.post-76021978289672714782009-08-25T14:49:00.000-07:002009-08-25T14:53:48.161-07:00Hungry, hungry Hippo Apron/Bib<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHPSPGhHW-Trsm3ymJ6k065U1fuJc-ZX2BKNkSevAC8Wgh0ywTN-4UcDzOgJA1CoKNyBc18vEGjbPMPW4InbGnpQMt4XN_ySMU8tRLZQ82HYg5HEHEf6qku4yMwdrqAfjuCpi6oCWFvRo/s320/hungry+hippo+apronbib+004.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5374022847170944354" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhNglyyGBuY68mpbHX_wFwi7jCocuBmbiEc-iLfgMpH8F6UEMhHONimtdFRST8QPCg0W1tK7ORtU3RDNpLzOQZpHo06wpUpA8sIV1ExZID0ZTojwq0lbiqWyY0JxF9ua6f8N_bqUfgb06c/s320/hungry+hippo+apronbib+006.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5374022712502472770" />
Sometimes while shopping you see something that screams "Take Me home, see what you can do with me?" This is exactly what happened while I was doing one of my fun thrift shop runs, I spotted this Hippo pillowcase, and thought "Now , wouldn't this make a cute bib?". Home it went, and I turned a vintage child's pillowcase into a fun Apron/bib for a Toddler. Now all that is missing is a child to call it his/her own.mimi's Needle and threadhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03649856608303468155noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3613155415496735446.post-75134278482002109402009-08-21T09:10:00.001-07:002009-08-21T09:20:56.572-07:00"My Pillow"<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgqOW-Y7pMW1Mkspvy77mJclsK4CjNo3d_7Yf5tRqfffrHL3Fpl9x8n1cnAWHttqW6FAvFrmr-B3mejPwWLa-EKZb1hX7k1g7-LY9OyEkDxW2HfH3-qNpaZetkiyQ7ALna-448vLznIxY/s320/name+pillows+002.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5372452713985903522" />
I am finished with the first of 5 pillows I am making for each of my grand daughters for Christmas. Each girl will have her very own pillow. It is 12 x 16 inches has a 2 inch lace ruffle and is soft and cuddly. My grand daughter range in age from 5 to newborn and one to be born this December. I used very pretty girly fabrics for the names and used the same fabrics for the borders. The original pattern for this pillow did not use a border around the main name piece, but I like borders so I cut the fabric a quarter of an inch smaller than suggested, then cut out a 1 inch piece of fabric to the name fabric and I got to be the exact size they suggested, I then cut out lots of 1 1/2 x 3 inch fabric pieces and put them all together with a 1/4 inch seam to make 2 shorter lengths and 2 larger lengths to fit the main name piece. If you want to know how to finish this pillow just ask and I will be happy to help you. I enjoy quilting , so this pillow is a great way to make something beautiful and useful.mimi's Needle and threadhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03649856608303468155noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3613155415496735446.post-72800664625011870902009-08-19T15:56:00.000-07:002009-08-19T16:00:57.042-07:00Getting an early start on ChristmasI always love to play an elf...especially when I get to make such fun presents for people. And this year is no exception. I am making all my grand daughters something that I think is so cute and I think they will love and enjoy for years to come. It's not a toy, they will soon grow tired of or break, it is something they will have in their rooms and will be something they will even use. I am very excited about making them this. Of course I am not mentioning what it is cuz their Moms will probably read this post and I don't want them to know what it is until I am done and take pictures of the finish product. So I am a busy elf measuring, cutting out, ironing, sewing and putting theses things together...what fun I am having.mimi's Needle and threadhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03649856608303468155noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3613155415496735446.post-22759234040087556702009-08-18T09:03:00.000-07:002009-08-18T09:09:30.755-07:00Please don't throw bird seeds at this dress.<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyBI3cqKpUXDeak3xpmR6WM36RZXCIXAa31HHEDXEdH_b17WvK7ef5TC7xo0vL4FHost4J0wTN19CIWJX8nDYoXnOKRbYl24h7adM8N_ieNN0yB0nS_9Q2wMHWo5TrtpylxzAFo5QZ2aw/s320/Birdy+Dress+7-22-2009+003.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5371336624947548274" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUelJWa2xwzODX7dslFHfJeq4TpARDFBG9oyjAWUw4y7UQcmHm1Tizc2dXfPbmcXsKlINDjADi_ZNckhhIbqO8LLNQwMdy4w_eBe3PUpaTmd7zAwB4TyriYcE2R5kOPX9sqJGuoWWBZ2A/s320/Birdy+Dress+7-22-2009+002.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5371336457620266738" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjadvvgEVZZKs5ERG-1eoLyBlA7GLN70YTCmHKNTpFaJ3kvrJN-Zwx1CPsDvGE1jtfUOF9Dtnxed2DGuonF_-pTW_rUWxl1FNIXFKe6lRK7u36G7ZOs0PoCpYtlgMEIjnIvWcK538FvTXg/s320/Birdy+Dress+7-22-2009+001.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5371336281571648210" />
When I made the Mermaid dress for my grand daughter, Rachel a friend of my daughter asked if I would make a dress for her daughter who's nickname is Birdy. Pillowcase dresses were first done my 1930 house wives to save money, when money was really tight and hard to come by, well today really isn't any different we all need and want to save money.These dresses are easy and fun to make, you can make them out of pillowcases, but I made mine out of new fabric, and I added some embroidery on the bottom of the dresses to help adorn them. The embroidery designs can be bought from Bunnycups designs and JuJu degigns. The first one I made for my sweet grand daughter Trinity , I choose a Mermaid embroidery design to go with the sea side beach theme of the fabric, as you can see I put her name in the front of her dress.mimi's Needle and threadhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03649856608303468155noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3613155415496735446.post-23951212461387980852009-08-17T09:09:00.000-07:002009-08-17T13:04:21.265-07:00Ooh La Laa jacket<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiB-QwVxf5UHtQdqfPTwL4l8lzRWtNhmQwetzMz7rbuklNU5aJINQKGVKlYZ9bp-gIUGL-VsdEGGUpCGq5E1vqMvAnROWoGVr8pgSjFDCFLGNXAgh72Iumo1eIpbQNeEERal_kKfxX7nzc/s320/ooh+la+laa+jacket+001.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5371025871148500114" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjGP4S8ISqpVM1e0bO-MpqBENmxoZaCcGkYB7JOIZHCxdREIHIeJfverS7anMVZEI1oM3CL0gW3vsTtaUz5eN3T8CQj9tGd_e0LaZity49eT5xiBc6XaODhAYVPNJjpsdDTYql6DozgAdk/s320/ooh+la+laa+jacket+003.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5371025707744750338" />
I made this little jacket for my grand daughter Natelie's 2nd birthday. I started with a basic jacket pattern. Simplicity 9417 in a size 3. the patterns for the front and back has a separate piece for the top and bottom, so I just marked the seam and cut a full front and back piece . I then embroidered the ooh La Laa on the back, this took a lot of time since I am still new to machine embroidery, then I added the rest of the embroideries to the bottom of the back. I then made the pockets by embroidering the Poodles and cut out the pockets and attaching it to the front. I added a back stitch to the pockets to finish them. I cut on little rectangles and made tabs to use as closures instead of buttons, I used heavy duty snaps so they could close in front. This is my first attempt at anything this complicated with my new embroidery machine. I am pleased with the results.mimi's Needle and threadhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03649856608303468155noreply@blogger.com0
